Our responsibility for children’s future
Even now, around 10-20 per cent of primary aged children who should be in school are out of school. Adding
the number of children who are enrolled but are not attending school would raise the number of out-of-school
children to approximately 101 million. 101 million children growing up without learning how to read and write!
Literacy however is fundamental for their development and for a promising future.
Reflecting our deep commitment to all forms of culture, we have supported UNICEF’s
Education and Literacy programmes through various projects since 2004.
Thanks to our contribution there has been
tremendous progress in various supported countries: more children are enrolled in school, new school buildings
and literacy centres have been built and more girls and women are engaged in learning.
This positive development confirms us in continuing our commitment in 2009 with yet another charity
campaign to the benefit of UNICEF. We have created the unique Montblanc Signature for Good Edition as further
tangible evidence of this partnership. Part of the proceeds from sales of the Signature for Good Edition will
be donated to UNICEF. By purchasing your own example of this unique Signature for Good Edition, you will
therefore be making a valuable contribution to UNICEF’s child education projects worldwide.
